"Many thanks to Roger for returning my Porsche Cayman back to what can only be described as nigh on showroom condition. His level of detail and finish was far more than I was expecting. Furthermore he genuinely seems to care about the work he does. I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone looking for a level of finish you would find hard to beat anywhere!"

Adrian, Company Director - Porsche Cayman

Hi Roger, thank you so very much for your outstanding work on my Ford RS2000. It has never looked so fantastic, your attention do detail is exceptional and I will certainly be returning my car to you for other work and will also recommend you to others. I would also like to thank you for the advice you gave to me regarding wax choice and the best place to purchase this from.

SWIRL MARKS IN THE PAINTWORK. (Please note all work protected under UK copyright law). The spider web patterns of micro-scratches that appear over time on a car’s paintwork are almost entirely caused by the action of washing. The more often you clean your car the more chances of swirl marks being generated. There is a right and wrong way to wash your car. As long as you introduce a safe wash procedure, then you can keep these spider patterns to an absolute minimum, if any at all. But there is also a way of protecting your paintwork. (See below for details).

SAFE WASHING PROCEDURE. Step 1. Always remember to pre-wash your vehicle to remove any loose dirt. Step 2. Use two buckets, one for shampoo and one with clean water for your wash mitt rinsing. Step 3. Try to use separate wash mitts for upper bodywork, lower bodywork and wheels. Clean down the vehicle from top to bottom, finishing with the wheels. Step 4. Dry the vehicle with microfibre cloths rather than the old leather chamois which are too harsh for modern paintworks.

1. PAINT REJUVENATION – This procedure will remove oxidized paintwork from older vehicles (ultra violet damage from sunlight over time) which dulls the most top layer of the paintwork. By machine polishing the bodywork, the dead paint on the top can be removed to reveal original fresh new paint underneath, this will totally transform the paintwork with little effort required. The results can be amazing. The two examples below show what can be achieved. Left pictures show before shots, right pictures after shots.

2. PAINT CORRECTION – Modern paintwork often suffers from being very soft (water based paintwork on todays cars) which can quickly lead to micro-swirling (scratches) in a very short space of time. Especially visible on darker coloured cars. Again this will look bad in sunlight or under night street lamps and will eventually give the appearance of dull paintwork. By machine polishing the paintwork it is possible to remove these defects and restore to as new or even better than new. In the picture below you can see the rear cabin door of this Nissan Navara pickup before any paintwork correction, and the front door having already been corrected.
The right picture shows a typical machine polish in progress.

3. PAINT ENHANCEMENT – Although you would have thought a new car would have perfect paintwork, this unfortunately is not the case. Virtually every car would benefit from at least a one-stage machine polish. This is because cars that leave the production line are quite often subject to various environment damage before they even get sold new. This can be standing around outside picking up all sorts of contamination in the environment, poor dealership valeting and preparation, plus the paintwork is never perfectly flat from new, to give perfect reflection.

4. PAINT PROTECTION SYSTEMS – The most important stage once the paintwork is perfect, is to add a proven paintwork protection system. There have been many, many sealants (as they are sometimes known) on the new car market for many years. These have varying degrees of success, but are rarely worth the money. Apart from the technology is old now and the chemicals have developed over time, there is also the question over preparation before any system is put in place. The best solution is to have the car professionally Detailed and then add the latest Nanotechnology coatings for long term protection, proven to outperform all these previous Polymer or Teflon systems. Not only paintwork can be protected but all other items on the vehicle including the interior.
