A customer of mine had me perform a Protection Detail on his BMW a while back and now wanted some correction work done on his lovely Porsche 968. Colin Edge has already carried out substantial work on his lovely 968 including new canvas roof, leather seats refurbished, new gearbox, plus other work to bring the car up to scratch. The car looks great but had picked up micro swirling all over the paintwork due to poor wash technique and fairly soft paintwork. Although the paintwork defects were not too bad they definitely held the car back. In sunshine you could see swirling quite badly on the flat areas of bonnet and boot. The car was booked in for a couple of days with me to correct the paint and seal with multi-layers of Zaino sealant. Once pad and polish combination had been sorted out the whole car was carefully polished. First step after snow foaming whole car, wheels, shuts etc, was to clean the engine bay with degreaser with brushes to remove all the grease left during engine and gearbox replacement. Next step was to move the car inside for the claying procedure. In the sunlight you could see the swirling straight away on the flat areas of the boot and bonnet. Correction being undertaken on the boot area. Correction complete on the boot. Machine finishing on the bonnet. Tighter areas tackled with tiny 3m and Meguiars pads Perfect bonnet now polished and finished. ...and below some final pics in the sunshihe. |
