11th August 2011 Paul Brittlebank is a local regular customer of mine. He owns various vehicles including the Black Range Rover in the pictures below. Apart from the soft paint that is found on the Range Rover amounting to many paint defects over time, this nice vehicle was subject to a very nasty machine polish and sealant being applied wrongly by a main dealer. The task was to remove all the hologram buffer marks left all over the vehicle by the main dealer, then tackle the normal swirls and scratches found over time on this type of paint. About a 95% success rate of correction was achievable over a 3.5 days. Then a Gtechniq Crystal Lacquer was applied to protect the paintwork. The first pictures show some idea of the defects. ![]() Bad machine buffing on the bonnet by the main dealer. ![]() More shots below of bonnet. ![]() Strip in the middle is before and either side is the correction achieved on a door. ![]() Below shows the right hand side of the door corrected and the left shows the dull milky paint before. ![]() Closer shot of the doors. ![]() Some final finished shots after three and a half days work. |
